Former Vice President Joe Biden looks likely to secure enough electoral votes to serve as the 46th president of the United States. Democrats have retained control of the U.S. House of Representatives, albeit with what is expected to be a slimmer margin than in the 116th Congress. At the time of this writing, control of the U.S. Senate was not yet determined—and may not be fully decided until at least one, if not two, Georgia runoff elections in January. However, it appears likely that Republicans will retain control of the upper chamber.
