Across industries, the percentage of C-level executives leaders who say their IT function is effective in delivering even basic services has plummeted over the last decade, according to a new report from IBM.

The study, conducted by the IBM Institute for Business Value in collaboration with Oxford Economics, surveyed 2,500 C-level technology executives (CTOs, CIOs and CDOs) from 34 countries and 26 industries in Q1 2024.

Across industries, only 47% of tech CxOs believe their IT organization is effective in basic services, a significant drop from 69% in 2013. Confidence in basic technology services among CEOs and CFOs has also decreased, with only...
