That it is as relevant now as it was in 2010 tells us something, does it not?

We can throw out the “we just need more time” plea. Francis Collins, leader of the human genome initiative, asserted that in “…15 or 20 years, you will see a complete transformation in therapeutic medicine.” That was in 2000.

When we look for new therapies enabled by genomics, the page is pretty much blank. A good place to find new breakthroughs is the Genome Advance of the Month site. It is run by the National Human Genome Research Institute. They should...
