The World Health Organization released updated guidance for the use of large multi-modal models, a form of artificial intelligence with multiple potential uses in healthcare.

Platforms such as ChatGPT use large multi-modal models, which are able to accept data such as text or images and generate responses not limited to the type of data provided, according to a Jan. 17 news release from the WHO.
