The Leapfrog Group doled out 12 “F” grades to hospitals for their patient safety in its spring 2023 rating.

Leapfrog analyzed nearly 3,000 U.S. hospitals and graded each one based on each center’s “ability to protect patients from preventable errors, accidents, injuries and infections,” the organization said May 3.

Less than 1 percent of hospitals were given an “F.” The 12 are:

  • Columbia Memorial Hospital (Hudson, N.Y.)
  • Hazard (Ky.) ARH Regional Medical Center
  • Knox Community Hospital (Mount Vernon, Ohio)
  • Los Angeles Community Hospital
  • Nacogdoches (Texas) Memorial Hospital
  • Ochsner American...
