On Saturday, The Information broke a story that Google plans to launch a Chrome-ready AI that any user can choose to load on their desktop as early as this December.

The initiative is codenamed Project Jarvis — after the fictional artificial general intelligence that billionaire Tony Stark created in Marvel’s superhero franchise — and the desktop AI model reportedly would coincide with Google’s debut of its next generation of Gemini 2.0.
