President-elect Trump has vowed to rescind unspent funds earmarked for climate provisions contained in the Inflation Reduction Act, a signature piece of legislation signed by President Biden in 2022. Nevertheless, conspicuously absent from Trump’s promise to repeal portions of the IRA law is talk of removing prescription drug price provisions from the Medicare program. It’s unlikely these measures will be on the chopping block because of their popularity among constituents. In fact, it’s plausible that the new administration will pursue steeper price cuts.
