The ambulatory EHR market is booming with solutions targeting healthcare organizations ranging from large health systems to single physician practices.

The ambulatory EHR market is crowded with a variety of product offerings from huge enterprise EHR vendors such as Cerner and Epic to smaller and specialty EHR companies including Pulse Systems and CPSI’s Healthland.

Federal incentive programs like the EHR Incentive Programs and the Quality Payment Program have helped to bolster the rapid growth of the industry. Following the implementation of the HITECH Act of 2009, EHR adoption rates spiked from an average of 3.2 percent annually to 14.2 percent, marking a comparative increase of 11.1 percent.
