When AI agents first arrived, they were little more than glorified bots. As they rapidly advance in intelligence and functionality, they are set to take on many of the same activities people engage in. Because of this, I believe AI agents will become consumers in their own right. When they do, we will need technology rails to both enable and track their actions.
The most promising innovation for this role to date is blockchain. Serving as the rails for AI agent activity will be the most consequential use case for Web3, equal to, if not greater than, cryptocurrency.
