Walgreens’ Village MD will close about 40 clinics in Florida, exiting the market entirely by March 15.

“We are exiting the Florida market and our patients always remain the top priority,” a VillageMD spokesperson told Becker’s Feb. 21. “We are supporting our patients during this transition including giving them resources of where they can receive care, access their medical records and answer their questions.”

VillageMD — majority owned by Walgreens Boots Alliance — has 51 clinic locations in Florida, 14 of which are already listed as closed on its website. The most recent practices opened in Jacksonville in 2022.

The move comes two months after VillageMD announced it would close a dozen clinics in Indiana and leave the market....
