The senior population in the U.S. is rapidly expanding, as is the demand for comprehensive health care to address their specific needs. There are now approximately 62 million people ages 65 and older living in America, and that number is expected to balloon up to 84 million in the next 30 years. At the same time, there is a severe shortage of geriatricians – only about one for every 10,000 seniors in the U.S. – who specialize in treating the prevalent chronic and complex conditions affecting older adults.
