The federal agency is ready to process veteran EHRs to support interoperability between VA and DoD through its Cerner EHR transition.

VA successfully transferred 23.5 million veteran health records from its legacy VistA system to its new Cerner EHR platform as part of an effort to achieve interoperability with the Department of Defense (DoD).

The data migration phase of VA’s Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) project began in late spring.
