The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has reduced its IT workforce by 12% following budget cuts at the agency, Federal News Network reported.

Nearly 1,200 VA IT employees have accepted voluntary buyouts and will remain on staff through the end of the year, according to the July 14 story. The VA’s fiscal 2026 budget includes a $300 million reduction in IT spending.
