The department of Veterans Affairs is slated to cut 80,000 healthcare workers this year, according to a report from the Associated Press. In addition, at least 550 public health workers have already been laid off by the CDC, which includes the 180 that were rehired after being let go last month by the Trump administration. The Health and Human Services also offered voluntary buyouts for employees to resign from their jobs. The reductions come as part of President Trump’s agenda to cut costs and make the federal government more efficient.
