– The University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison) has launched a new campus center focused on using genomics and precision medicine to find solutions to modern problems in medicine, agriculture, and scientific discovery.

Officially opened on September 1, the Center for Genomic Scientific Innovation (CGSI) will aim to develop technological and genomic computation approaches to cross-industry issues.

UW-Madison created the CGSI as part of the reorganization of the Genome Center of Wisconsin. Research at the CGSI will focus on three major areas, including innovation in genomic technology, advancing computational-genomic methods, and integrating genomic approaches in complex biological systems.
