Will COVID-19 present a use case for smartphone patient data access and third-party app integration?
For JP Pollak, one of the brains behind Android’s foray into mobile health records access, true patient data access isn’t going to come because a patient wants to look at her medical record—at least not entirely.
Instead, patients are going to flock to their digital health records and patient portals because of the apps that leverage their medical data and how they can use their health data in their everyday lives. In other words, patients will want their digital health records because they need that data for other healthcare apps they want to use.
