The inauguration of President Trump has placed global health cooperation at a critical juncture. Within hours of being sworn in, President Trump issued an executive order directing the United States to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO). As a major funder of the WHO, with 1.284 billion US dollars contributed during the 2022–2023 biennium alone, this decision to withdraw funding and participation will have profound implications for global health efforts.
