Amedisys and UnitedHealth Group have agreed to sell an unknown number of care centers to VitalCaring Group amid the companies planned merger later this year.

“Consummation of the divestiture is contingent on a number of conditions, including the consummation of the previously announced merger transaction,” Amedisys wrote in a June 28 regulatory filing.

Optum announced its intent to acquire Amedisys for $3.3 billion in June 2023. Amedisys shareholders approved the deal in September, but it is under review...
