Healthcare industry stakeholders increasingly recognize that in order to deliver improved health outcomes, it is necessary to address the social factors that influence consumer health. Findings from McKinsey’s 2019 Consumer Health Insights and Consumer Social Determinants of Health surveys demonstrate that social needs are a salient issue for all types of consumers, and that they are also linked with consumer preferences and perceptions of the care they receive.
