In today’s column, I examine whether there are discernible timetable patterns and temporal rhythms associated with the use of generative AI and large language models (LLMs) when obtaining and interacting about personal mental health.

Here’s the deal. People generally have historically sought mental health guidance on a somewhat predictable timetable, necessitated by the availability of therapists and the logistics of scheduled therapeutic sessions. Nowadays, given the around-the-clock availability of LLMs such as ChatGPT, GPT-5, Claude, Grok, Gemini, etc., people can use AI at any time of the day or night for their mental health inquiries.
