It was probably 10+ years when I first came across the next generation of remote monitoring devices at the CES Conference in Las Vegas. This was shortly after the iPhone launched and some creative thinkers had taken similar technology that included an accelerometer, GPS, and a cell signal to create a really great wearable device for seniors to track movement and fall risk. At the time I saw it as a really great next generation “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” solution. I was also in awe at all that you could do with those 3 technologies in one simple device.
