A brief, overnight government shutdown came to an end Friday morning when President Donald Trump signed a $400 billion, two-year bipartisan, budget deal that includes funding for several major healthcare programs, including the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), community health centers and initiatives to combat the opioid crisis.
