Navigating the nuanced differences of adult versus pediatric palliative care delivery can be a challenging feat for seriously ill youths as they age and transition between these two realms.

Pediatric patients often experience burdensome care transitions as they reach adulthood, according to Dr. Daniel Karlin, associate clinical professor University of California, Los Angeles’ (UCLA) David Geffen School of Medicine. Karlin is also palliative care medical director at UCLA Health’s Palliative Care Program.
