3 KEY COMPONENTS — Congress is back to trying to solve its health care problem — as premiums are rising after Republicans declined to extend the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced premium tax credits, which expired at the end of 2025.

The GOP has floated a myriad of solutions, but none have gained real traction.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune, on Tuesday, laid out what he says are the key elements needed for any bipartisan deal to garner enough support to pass through his chamber, POLITICO’s Jordain Carney reports.
