It’s well known that in Las Vegas, the winners are relatively few and far between. This week, a proud long-term care contingent put that notion on its ear.

As winner after winner crossed the stage during the closing session of the 2025 American Health Care Association / National Center for Assisted Living annual meeting on Wednesday, it became abundantly clear: They really know how to do it right.

The first “they” being AHCA/NCAL itself. It put on a booming national conference for the first time in two years, thanks to a hurricane threat that caused last year’s show to be canceled. Attendance was second only to 2017, the last time the group hit the City of Second Chances.
