Skilled care doesn’t often get the best press in the mainstream media, so when good news comes along, it’s worth pausing to take notice.

Last week was one of those moments. More than 2,700 skilled nursing providers earned a spot on U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 Best Nursing Homes list.

That’s not just a pat on the back. It’s recognition earned across more rigorous criteria that give consumers another lens beyond the federal government’s ratings.
