Forty organizations received revised star ratings from CMS after the agency recalculated its star ratings for 2024.

CMS said it would recalculate 2024 star ratings for all health plans after judges sided with SCAN Group and Elevance Health, which challenged the methodology CMS used to determine the ratings.

The agency said it would not lower the star rating for any plan in its recalculations. The agency did not eliminate extreme outliers from its revised calculations. Plans that received upgrades saw their star ratings increase by half a star.

Here are the 40 insurers who had contracts upgraded by CMS, according to data published July 2.
