The government wants to ramp up AI adoption across the UK, and this much-heralded plan sets out what it thinks will be needed

On 13 January 2025, to much fanfare, the UK government published tech entrepreneur Matt Clifford’s AI Opportunities Action Plan, an ambitious proposal for ramping up artificial intelligence (AI) development and adoption across the UK. At the same time, the government published a detailed response, accepting all 50 recommendations and setting out how it proposed to take them forward.
