More Medicaid plans received 4 and 4.5 star ratings from the National Committee for Quality Assurance in 2024 than in 2023.

The NCQA published its 2024 ratings of health plans Sept. 15. The rating scores plans on nearly 50 assessments of patient outcome and experience.

Just five plans out of the more than 1,000 rated received 5-star ratings. No Medicaid plans received the 5-star distinction.

Not every state uses Medicaid managed care plans in their Medicaid programs.

Here are the top-rated Medicaid plans in each state:

Arizona

Contra Costa Health Plan: 4.5 stars
