The top 132 hospitals of 2023, according to Leapfrog

The Leapfrog Group on Tuesday released its 2023 “Top Hospitals” list, recognizing 132 hospitals — including 87 Advisory Board members — for excellence in hospital quality, patient safety, and efficiency.

Methodology

For the list, Leapfrog sorted hospitals into five categories and compared hospitals to their peers. The five categories were:

• General hospitals
• Children’s hospitals
• Rural hospitals
• Large teaching hospitals (500 or more staffed beds)
• Small teaching hospitals (fewer than 500 staffed beds)
