Social vulnerability and economic disadvantages exacerbate financial hardship in cancer survivors, according to one study.

Nearly 50% of cancer survivors reported experiencing financial hardship, with younger individuals, those with advanced disease stages, and those living in socioeconomically disadvantaged communities being most affected, a study finds.1

The cross-sectional study published in JAMA Open Network underscores the critical impact of community-level social determinants of health on financial hardship and calls for targeted interventions to alleviate these economic burdens.
