On March 5, 2024, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Antitrust Division, and the Department of Health and Human Services launched a cross-government request for information (RFI) into private equity and other corporations’ increasing control over health care. The three agencies accepted comments through June 5 as they sought additional information on how health care consolidation is affecting markets. This RFI presents an opportunity for federal agencies to learn about potential enforcement priorities and regulations that could strengthen competition in health care markets.
