The rising cost of healthcare in the United States is a concern not only for individuals and families but also for corporations and both state and federal governments.
This is particularly true of Medicaid programs across the country. The ever-escalating costs of medical goods and services are driving up the cost of Medicaid
programs and making it difficult for state governments to fund their portion of the program.1 State legislatures are increasingly faced with making difficult choices of funding
the Medicaid program at the expense of other, equally important priorities.
