In 2022, viewers tuning into “Dr. Phil” saw an average of eight ads for Medicare Advantage plans per episode during open enrollment season, according to an analysis from KFF.

The report, published Sept. 20, found more than 9,500 ads for Medicare Advantage plans hit the airwaves each day during the 2022 open enrollment period, when Medicare beneficiaries can choose to change their coverage for the upcoming year.

KFF found the top 10 programs with the most MA ads in 2022. Local news programs were the most common slot for Medicare Advantage ads, with talk shows, court shows and game shows being the most common national programs for advertising.
