How physicians can help close the awareness gap and support families to screen for type 1 diabetes

Screening for Type 1 diabetes (T1D) may help reduce the risk of people getting seriously ill at the time of diagnosis, yet very few adults are even aware screening exists. In fact, just 14% of adults with T1D say they were screened with an autoantibody test prior to their diagnosis, according to “The Cost of Not Knowing” survey from Beyond Type 1 and commissioned by Sanofi.
