The federal and legal assault on Tylenol is an assault on science

When President Trump and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. asserted an unproven link between acetaminophen (Tylenol) and autism, it appeared to be just another salvo in the administration’s ongoing perpetuation of scientific mythology or its critique of “Big Pharma.”

But last week, those words took on the force of law. On Tuesday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit against Kenvue, maker of brand-name Tylenol, directly citing the administration’s new “Make America Healthy Again” movement.
