Research presented at the 2024 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition delves into the evolving role of pharmacists in telepharmacy for chronic disease management (CDM), identifying challenges and strategies to enhance patient communication, optimize technology support, and improve overall health care outcomes.

This study explores the changing role of pharmacists in telepharmacy for CDM in New York State, focusing on enhancing patient communication, optimizing health care technology support, and improving telepharmacy implementation. By examining challenges and opportunities, the study provides insights for better integration of telepharmacy in health care to improve patient outcomes. Methods included qualitative research with 11 pharmacists, using semistructured interviews to gather insights into experiences with telepharmacy in CDM.
