The National Committee for Quality Assurance identified the standout MA plans for each state, evaluating based on nearly 50 factors that include patient experience and clinical performance.

The ratings were released Sept. 16 and are based on 2024 data from commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and ACA plans that reported Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set and Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems results to the NCQA. Some MA plan data is from 2023 because of reporting schedules. NCQA accreditation status was also factored in. Plans were rated on a zero-to-five-star scale. In total, 998 plans received a rating.

Here are the best MA plans for each state, plus the District of Columbia.
