With the 116th Congress now in full swing, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has taken center stage in the U.S. House of Representatives. From a series of hearings to newly introduced legislation, this post shares some of the (non-exhaustive) highlights of this activity so far.

Focus On Protections For People With Preexisting Conditions And Texas V. Azar

As discussed in prior posts, one of the House’s first votes in 2019 was to give itself the authority to intervene in Texas v. Azar, the lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the mandate and, with it, the entire ACA. The motion to intervene was filed in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals on January 7 but the lawsuit was temporarily put on hold...
