U.S. News & World Report released its annual medical school rankings and ratings July 23, including rankings of the most diverse schools.
For the diversity ranking, the media company examined 164 medical and osteopathic schools based on fall 2023 race and ethnicity enrollment information. The information was either reported to U.S. News in fall 2023 or early 2024, or from the American Academy of Family Physicians.
A school’s overall diversity score was based on the percentage of underrepresented minority students enrolled at the school (67%) and the ratio of a school’s underrepresented minority students to state or national numbers (33%). Scores ranged from 0 to 10, with the top-ranked school receiving...
