Telehealth’s post-pandemic rise broadened access to mental health care significantly, but the digital-first patient preference may have hit its growth threshold. Multiple sources have confirmed a decline in telehealth claims nationally in recent months, particularly across behavioral health.
Behavioral health accounted for 67% of all telehealth visits in 2024, according to Trilliant Health, but between 2023 and 2024, the total number of visits plummeted by 10 million – marking the largest decrease in this type of telehealth services since COVID-19.
