The retail company, which is suffering from stagnant sales, has made AI part of its growth strategy. But staff said that ‘Help AI’ is a poorly designed tool and a waste of resources.

Last month, Target officially plunged into the AI bubble. Like many of its peers in the retail industry, the company went with something simple and accessible — a ChatGPT-esque bot. But instead of focusing it on customer support, Target focused it on employees.
