On March 2, 2020, the Supreme Court announced that it will hear Texas v. United States—now refashioned as California v. Texas. This appeal was filed by a coalition of 21 Democratic attorneys general, led by California. The Court also granted a conditional cross-petition filed by the plaintiffs, led by Texas, that asks the Court to uphold the district court’s decision, which declared the entire Affordable Care Act (ACA) to be invalid.
