Because of the aging of the ovaries, a woman’s fertility gradually declines, and she eventually enters menopause. The onset of menopause puts women at a significantly higher risk of various diseases such as cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis.
A new study suggests that a shorter reproductive lifespan is linked with a higher risk of multimorbidity. Results of the survey are published online in Menopause in a paper titled “Association between reproductive lifespan and multimorbidity among Chinese postmenopausal women.”
