Research Highlights:
  • Age, education and income are associated with less use of wearable health devices among people with and at risk for cardiovascular disease.
  • The study also found that more than 80% of wearable health device users at risk for cardiovascular disease, would be willing to share the health information tracked by the device with their health care team to improve their care, regardless of age, education, income, gender or race and ethnicity.
  • Increasing equitable access and promoting wearables as health devices may help improve health and decrease health disparities, according to the researchers.
