Thursday brought news that three people had been named to The Hill’s “Top Lobbyists” list for 2024 for their work on behalf of senior living providers.

American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living President and CEO Clif Porter and his predecessor in the position, Mark Parkinson, along with Argentum President and CEO James Balda, were among the approximately 200 people named in the Associations category of the media company’s annual list — and not for the first time.

The day also brought news that drove home the necessity and importance of the work they and others do — namely, that US Sen. Mark Kelly (D-MA) could introduce federal assisted living legislation before the end of the year.
