Population health. It’s been a buzzword in hospital boardrooms and insurance circles for years. But here’s the twist: it’s not just their domain anymore. In fact, it may be one of the biggest missed opportunities in senior living.

At its core, population health means improving outcomes for groups of people by managing both their medical care and the social factors that influence health — things such as meals, housing, transportation and engagement. Sound familiar? It should. Senior living already does much of this.

What’s different now is that the value of that work is starting to be recognized — and monetized.
