RFK Jr. cancels contracts and pulls funding for the development of mRNA vaccines. Health experts call it a “dangerous decision.”

In 2020, President Donald Trump hailed mRNA vaccines as a “medical miracle” in the fight against COVID-19. Now the mRNA research, which addresses cancer treatment, as well as flu, H5N1, RSV, and coronavirus protection, has gone away.

The panel that makes vaccine recommendations has been fired. Vaccine hesitancy has precipitated the measles outbreak. Our government is now proposing (historically slowly-developed) whole-virus vaccines, thereby ensuring that future contagions will be harder to control.
