West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health is aiming to standardize nurse education and professional development across the system via a new institute.

The Institute for Nursing Excellence, which officially opened last month, comprises two state-of-the-art facilities in Livingston and Oceanport, N.J. The facilities include classrooms and high-tech simulation labs where nurses of all levels can participate in hands-on training, active simulations and specialty courses, among other educational opportunities. RWJBarnabas Health will host regional orientation programs for new nurses at the facilities, as well.
