Project 2025 has gained national attention in recent months for its plan to fundamentally reshape the role of government and the power of the executive branch to allow more favorable conditions for a potential Republican presidency to enact a conservative agenda. Although the current Republican nominee has sought to distance himself from the policies and goals of the coalition behind Project 2025, many of his close advisors and former presidential appointees are involved in the project and numerous proposals match or are closely aligned with those of the official Trump campaign platform.
